The Palace of Culture and Sports is a multifunctional complex located in the center of Varna. Many prestigious and important events for the city are held here such as festivals, European and world championships, congresses, exhibitions, performances and concerts.
The building has rightfully become a symbol of the city and it is one of the brightest achievements of modern Bulgarian architecture. The construction began in October 1966 and it was inaugurated two years later.
The Palace of Culture and Sports has 6 multi-purpose halls, including the Congress Hall and the Mladost Complex.
Congress Hall is a hall for sporting, cultural, or conference events. It is 13 meters high, and while used in sport events it has a playing field 45 x 27 meters and 5116 seats. It's equipped with four electronic panels and a sound system. The hall has 6 sports locker rooms, 6 dressing rooms, a medical office, a doping control office, commentary and television booths, etc. The hall also has a modern press centre, equipped with a sound system and internet connection, which is suitable for press conferences, presentations and events of a sports-advertising nature. In the period 2014-2015 the Congress Hall was completely renovated.
The Mladost Complex consists of 5 separate halls, that could be used a single hall or separate ones. They are a functional and convenient choice for events of all kinds. The halls are separated by electronically controlled soundproof curtains.
