Greenery, beach of coarse and clean sand, crystal waters, and a strip stretching over a kilometer - this is Galata beach.
The place is unpopular due to its elevated location, as access to the shore requires descending approximately 1,500 steps or walking more than 800 metres on foot.
There is no view of the city from the beach; instead, only ships waiting at anchorage can be seen on the distant horizon. Тhe sun sets early here because of the high forest above the sandy strip. In its southern part, the coastline becomes rockier, with naturally formed small coves that attract visitors seeking peace and seclusion.
If you decide to gather sun rays on this beach, you should bring your own beach accessories, drinks and food, as there is nowhere to buy from here. The staircase is wide and well maintained, but the climb can be demanding, especially on the return.
If you arrive by car you can leave it on “Kraibrejna” str. and continue downstairs on foot. If using public transport you have to proceed from the bus stop along “Kapitan Prvi Rang G. Kupov“ Str. to the steps (Bus lines 17, 17a, 46, 60, bus stop “Galata Center”).
